In January, 1990, Sumith Ranwatta, young dynamic Chartered Accountant while working in the corporate world and as a provider of freelancing accountancy services for few of his personally known clients obtained his practicing status and founded Ranwatta & Co. that was firstly identified in the founder’s name until Mr. T G Kandamby joined as a partner in 1994 in which year Sumith left his employment and came to full-time practice then named, Ranwatta & Kandamby realizing that by staying as an employee, there is a limit as to how much he can help their clients. He from the beginning strongly believe that through simplicity, many things can be done easier, faster, more effectively and more efficiently. He knew that to gain back his passion and satisfaction in having helped clients to the utmost, he needed to do things differently from the norm.
Since 1996, Ranwatta & Co, proprietary concern has grown up into a recognized local audit firm with more than 50 professionals and qualified accountants. From a small audit practice, providing audit services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), bridging the service gap between the big four international audit firms and smaller audit firms in Sri Lanka we have expanded our audit business as well as diversified into a range of other compliance services through our affiliated companies.
We are now able to offer an array of audit, accounting, tax and corporate services under a centralized roof aimed at providing an integrated and timely solutions to our clients. Over the years, our clients are able to enjoy the convenience of our centralized approach to their business solutions and the economy of scale that comes along with it.
Our firm practices according to the technical standards set by Institute of Sri Lanka Chartered Accountants (CASL). It is our policy to ensure that the most updated and latest skills and auditing techniques are applied to all audit assignments. We undertake an early-warning approach to pre-empt possible pitfalls by applying risk analysis and analytical review techniques that focus audit effort on areas with greater risk potential, resulting in an effective and efficient audit. This allows us to build a proactive relationship with our clients to manage any complex issues and it also reduces the time usually required for detailed audit testing, ensuring minimal disruption to our clients’ workflow.
Our team comprises of qualified chartered accountants and professionals who are fully resourced and dedicated to providing you with excellent service, tailoring our services to suit the size and nature of our client’s organization.
To ensure a seamless experience for our clients, we work together with our associate companies and network of professional firms, to provide quality professional accounting, corporate secretarial, taxation and other related services to our clients.
The firm has been certified as an Accredited Training Organization (ATO) by the CA Sri Lanka, to possess the appropriate staff training, accountancy resources and development for CA candidates to fulfil their Practical Experience.
